…and it tasted blummin’ fantastic. We put it in boiling water for about 5 minutes, took it out and ate it with a large knob of butter on our plate. The earwigs had just started to take hold, so i think we got it at just the right time!

I cut my corn down yesterday.
Would you say twenty seven cobs was a good harvest from twenty plants. I wouldn’t know but they are fantastic.
After cutting them down I dug out the roots which needed a bit of a whack to remove the dirt built up around them but was impressed with the soil afterwards.
Will be planting Garlic there at the end of the month.Rgds,
CFF.

Spot on Lucy!
Cazau - Yeah i’d say that was pretty darn good. We had an average of 1.3 cobs per plant. I think some varieties are generally more productive that others.
Good thinking about the garlic, a really good use of the space.!

Why is it I’d never realised you were in Cheltenham? I live just off Arle Road.
Lovely sweetcorn! Mine has done really well this year too, and I’m astounded that it managed to ripen amid deluges of rain and virtually no sunlight in the whole of August. Just goes to show … you think you know what you’re doing and then the garden does something different.
